Promoting Prostitution

Depending on the facts of your case, you could face a maximum sentence of one, five or ten years in prison. You usually can’t wipe this off of your record unless you win the case. Because of the possible penalties, you are entitled to a jury trial.

This firm has represented numerous people accused of committing this type of crime. The government has to prove you did something to facilitate prostitution activity. They sometimes stretch to outrageous levels to do this. For example, we once represented a bar owner who was charged with promoting prostitution for merely charging a ten dollar cover charge to an area of the bar where customers were getting lap dances. There is sometimes a fine line between breaking the law and operating a legitimate business.
