Kidnapping

Kidnapping occurs by restraining someone against their will to either harm them or hold them for ransom.  You don't have to restrain someone for that long to get a kidnapping charge.  For instance, if you hold someone down for a few seconds so your friend can hit that person, that can constitute kidnapping.  This crime is often an added charge in sex assault cases.  Kidnapping, and its related crimes, are punishable by between 1-20 years in jail.
