Sex assault covers the full gambit of sex crime, from "flashing" to rape.  Also included is statutory rape, which in Hawaii is having consensual sex with someone under the age of 16.  Sex assault can be punishable with jail between 1-20 years.

If convicted of felony sex assault, and sometimes in misdemeanor cases you must register as a sex offender for the rest of your life.

I have defended numerous people for this kind of case.  Juries often will look at the two sides of the story, often finding clients not guilty when the victims' stories do not always make sense or match the physical evidence.
